Bexley Borough Liberal Democrats

Rubbish, antisocial behaviour and lack of care from Tory Bexley Council

Rubbish, antisocial behaviour and lack of care from Tory Bexley Council were common complaints from Bexleyheath residents when speaking to Liberal Democrats at a recent action day.

Residents complained about the lack of response from the Conservative led Council in keeping the area clean and tidy. They were also frustrated with antisocial behaviour when people leave the town centre.

David McBride, Liberal Democrat PPC for Bexleyheath and Crayford, said that residents felt the council did not care about them.  "This fits with what residents in other parts of the constituency have told me.  The Conservatives are charging more and delivering less. Our area should be clean and people should feel safe in their neighbourhood. The message from residents is that neither of those things are true."

Action Day

Bexley liberal Democrats went out and spoke to voters in St Marys and James ward on Saturday, some of the common themes from the local people included concerns about the cost of living crisis that the government has overseen, the state of services in Bexley with council tax going up every year and the lack of a stop for the new Super loop bus (SL3) in Bexley Village which local residents have been asking for to allow a direct connection to the Elizabeth line from Bexley village.  One local resident dubbed Louie French's current record as more "Let Down Louie"

Old Bexley and Sidcup PPC Adrian Hyyrylainen-Trett described the feedback from residents as "“Focussing on the issues that concern the local community - the cost of living, the loss of services and facilities, and that’s what voters want their MPs to raise”  "
